Field Trip Fun! What a fun day we had last Friday on our Field Trip! We went out to Tempe Center for the Arts and saw Child's Play production of Pero, or the Mysteries of the Night. What a beautiful love story with amazing scenery and creativity! Live music and wonderful performances made the experiences very real and the students enjoyed the puppetry :-) Thank you to the volunteers for accompanying us on our trip.
Math This month is all about Money! We are: Identifying names and values of coins and dollar bills, recognizing symbols on coins, adding coins together, solving word problems using money. Language Arts The students have been working very hard on their puppet shows. Being inspired by Child's Play and learning about Fairy Tales, they decided they wanted to write and perform their own Puppet shows. I can't wait to see the final performance! In addition, we have been discussing the comprehension strategy of Cause and Effect. We read several Laura Numeroff stories and worked with partners to determine cause and effect in stories. Science Time! We are discussing plant and animal structures, identifying plants and animals that live in our local environment, comparing habitats in which certain animals live, and describing how plants and animals within a habitat are dependent upon each other. We are also looking at the following: Life cycles of various insects and mammals Scientific Method Science Experiments Science Fair Project Happenings in the Classroom!
